It is important that there is a monitoring mechanism in place to ensure that the results of POCT on clients with diabetes are of a high analytical quality, which is essential for client care.
The QAAMS Program provides a unique quality management framework for POCT on the DCA Vantage which requires participating services to conduct monthly quality checks on their POCT devices.
This quality management framework sets the QAAMS Program apart from any other model of primary health care delivery for Indigenous communities world-wide, and ensures results on clients with diabetes remain equivalent to that expected of a laboratory test.
