Beryl Mazzachi

Beryl Mazzachi worked as a Medical Scientist at Flinders Medical Centre for over 20 years, where she specialised in the development and evaluation of laboratory methods and the scientific assessment of medical instruments for pathology tests. In 2002, Beryl moved to the Community Point-of-Care Services unit in the Flinders University Rural Clinical School to become the unit’s senior scientist, where she has worked on a range of POCT-related tasks including the training of Aboriginal Health Workers and allied health professionals, the assessment of the clinical effectiveness of POCT in rural and remote communities, and the scientific validation of new point-of-care testing instruments in the Australian market. In 2006, Beryl was appointed QAAMS Training Co-ordinator.
